The advantage is control. Depth adjusts by region, so thin skin and scarred skin are not treated identically.

Micropen automated microneedling in Mississauga

Micropen is an automated microneedling device. A motorised tip delivers needles at a consistent speed and a depth the operator sets, which gives more even coverage and finer control than a manual roller.

That control is the practical difference. Skin around the eyes and forehead is thin and needs a shallower setting than a scarred cheek. Being able to change depth mid treatment means each area is treated appropriately rather than the whole face at one compromise setting.

What it treats

What micropen
treat well.

And a few things they do not. If your concern is not here, the consultation is where we work out what would actually help.

Concerns treated by micropen in MississaugaSkin and Resurfacing
  1. Acne scarring

Treated at depth on the affected areas while thinner skin nearby is treated more lightly.

  2. Uneven texture

Consistent coverage produces more even results than manual techniques.

  3. Fine lines around the eyes

Where shallow, controlled depth matters most.

  4. Pore appearance

Improved in appearance over a course.

  5. Overall skin quality

A general improvement in firmness and tone from collagen stimulation.

Questions

Micropen
questions, answered.

The Skin&Co consultation room in Mississauga
How is Micropen different from standard microneedling?

It is automated rather than manual, which gives more consistent needle speed and lets depth be adjusted by region. In practice that means more even results and appropriate treatment of thin skin.

How many sessions will I need?

Three to six, four to six weeks apart, depending on what is being treated.

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream makes it tolerable. You feel vibration and pressure. Deeper settings on scarred areas are more noticeable.

Is it safe for all skin types?

It is considerably safer across skin types than energy based treatments, which is a genuine advantage where pigment risk is a concern.

What is the downtime?

One to three days of redness. Most people return to work the next day, some the same day if redness settles quickly.

Can it be combined with other treatments?

Often, yes. It is frequently sequenced with peels or with PRP, planned as a programme rather than treatment by treatment.
