This one is permanent, which is exactly why we assess it harder than anything else on the list.
Belkyra is deoxycholic acid, a substance the body uses to break down dietary fat. Injected under the chin it destroys fat cells locally, and those cells do not come back. That permanence is the appeal and also the reason it deserves a careful assessment.
The treatment only works on fat. If the fullness under your chin is loose skin, a weak chin projection, or the position of the muscle band, Belkyra will not help and may make loose skin more obvious. Working out which it is takes an examination, not a photograph.

How it works
Four steps, in this order. Nothing is treated until it has been assessed, and nothing is repeated until it has been reviewed.
A physician establishes whether the fullness is fat, skin, muscle or chin projection. This is the whole treatment. Get it wrong and no amount of product helps.
Results
This is the most swelling of any treatment here, and it is expected. The area will feel firm and look fuller than before. Plan around it.
Swelling reduces substantially. Some firmness and numbness under the chin can persist and is normal.
The reduction becomes visible. This is when we assess whether a further session is worthwhile.
Treated fat cells are gone for good. Significant weight gain can still change the area, since remaining cells enlarge.

No. It removes fat. If your skin is already lax, reducing the fat beneath can make that more noticeable, which is why the assessment matters so much.
The injections sting for a few seconds each, and the area aches afterwards. Numbing helps considerably. Most people describe the days after as uncomfortable rather than painful.
