Laser Genesis results at Skin&Co, Mississauga

Nothing dramatic happens in one session, and that is the honest pitch. The change is cumulative, gentle, and entirely invisible as treatment.

Laser Genesis in Mississauga

Laser Genesis gently heats the upper dermis without breaking the skin surface. That heat stimulates collagen and reduces the diffuse redness that comes with rosacea and sun damage. Because nothing is ablated, there is no peeling, no crusting and no downtime.

It is the treatment we recommend when someone wants steady improvement without disruption, and the one we steer people away from when they want a single dramatic change. Those are different goals and they need different tools.

What it treats

What laser genesis
treat well.

And a few things they do not. If your concern is not here, the consultation is where we work out what would actually help.

Concerns treated by laser genesis in MississaugaLaser and Energy
  1. Diffuse facial redness

Generalised background redness rather than distinct vessels, which respond better to a vascular laser.

  2. Rosacea flushing

Reduced over a course, alongside whatever medical management the dermatology side recommends.

  3. Fine lines and texture

Gradual improvement from collagen stimulation, subtle rather than transformative.

  4. Pore appearance

Improved rather than eliminated. We are specific about that.

  5. Skin during active acne

One of the few energy treatments that can be used while acne is being treated.

S&C

How it works

How laser genesis work
at Skin&Co.

Four steps, in this order. Nothing is treated until it has been assessed, and nothing is repeated until it has been reviewed.

Laser Genesis in Mississauga, step 1: assessment

Assessment

We establish whether your redness is diffuse or vascular, because they respond to different lasers and treating the wrong one wastes a course.

No downtime, by design.Treated at lunchtime, back at your desk after.
Day 0

Session day

Mild warmth and a light flush for an hour or two. Makeup can go straight back on. No restrictions at all.

Week 2 to 4

Next session

The course continues. Change at this point is subtle and mostly measurable in photographs rather than in the mirror.

After 4 to 6 sessions

Visible change

Redness reduced, texture smoother. This is where the cumulative effect becomes obvious.

Maintenance

Occasional sessions

Most people maintain with a session every few months, particularly if rosacea is the underlying issue.

When we say no

When we decline
laser genesis.

We do not treat in these situations, and we will say so in the consultation, which you are not charged for.

  • Anyone wanting a single dramatic result. This treatment cannot provide that.
  • Distinct visible vessels, which respond far better to a vascular laser. We will recommend that instead.
  • Active infection or an inflammatory flare in the treatment area.
  • Recent significant sun exposure.
  • Pregnancy, as a precaution.
  • Anyone unable to commit to a course. A single session achieves very little and we will say so.

Questions

Laser Genesis
questions, answered.

The Skin&Co consultation room in Mississauga
Is there really no downtime?

None. Mild warmth for an hour or two and you can wear makeup immediately. It is the least disruptive energy treatment we offer.

How many sessions do I need?

Four to six, spaced two to four weeks apart. Rosacea often benefits from ongoing maintenance afterwards.

Will it cure my rosacea?

No. Rosacea is managed, not cured. Laser Genesis reduces the redness component and works best alongside proper medical management, which the dermatology side of the practice provides.

Does it hurt?

No. Most people find it comfortable and describe it as a warm massage.

Can I have it while being treated for acne?

Usually yes, which is unusual among energy treatments. We coordinate it with whatever else is being prescribed.

How is it different from a vascular laser?

Laser Genesis treats diffuse background redness gently. A vascular laser targets individual visible vessels far more forcefully. Different problems, different tools.
